LowFruits vs Ahrefs: The Short Answer

Ahrefs is a full SEO platform with a large backlink index, Keywords Explorer, Site Audit and Rank Tracker. LowFruits does one job: finding keywords where weak sites rank, in bulk. Many publishers use them together, with Ahrefs for links and audits and LowFruits for long-tail target selection.

Why Ahrefs KD and LowFruits Disagree

Ahrefs estimates difficulty from the number of referring domains pointing at the top-ranking pages. A keyword can show a low KD while a strong domain ranks with an unlinked page, or a high KD while a weak, poorly matched page sits at position four. LowFruits looks at the sites themselves. Neither view is complete, which is why our guide to keyword difficulty recommends checking results pages directly.

Using Both

  1. Export a broad keyword list from Ahrefs for your topic.
  2. Import it into LowFruits and filter out keywords you would not target.
  3. Extract results pages and keep keywords with weak spots.
  4. Use Ahrefs to study backlinks and track your progress.
